I have been looking around for some head gaskets for the EJ25 sohc engine I will be using in the bug.

I can get some from Euro car spares down the road for £90 odd.

But I just found a set on ebay USA for £45 and it includes the full top end kit.

Does it look any good to you guys?

EJ25 HEAD SET

At that price I would order two sets to keep one set spare Grin

And I know there will be import tax and VAT to add, but the set is still gonna be miles cheaper than I can find it in the UK.

Have you got a Brown Brothers near to you? After I'd got mine (from the Gasket Shop) I found that BBs could get them

Or dare I say, try a main stealer

I just did a google search for 'brown brothers', I assume you are referring to the mazda dealerships as there are loads of butchers and stuff too

Non near me anyway, the nearest scooby dealer is Manchester I think, now that the widnes one closed down.

Ebay and the gasket shop have the EJ20 sets but few places seem to stock the EJ25(sohc) sets, that's why I was asking about the ones in the link.

so do you think they are worth a punt?

No Brown Bros were a fecking brill automotive factors near here. They have a few dotted around the country side

ring them. My local Scooby dealer was an arse (Waldren Way -Maidstone) after Gary left - he was proper interested in conversions. He'd helped a bloke do a Scooby into a gyro - missed the geezer by about 5 mins apparently.
Gary's replacement wanted to know chassis numbers etc (kin anal and couldn't be bothered). Anyway I faxed a photo copy of my gaskets to the Tonbridge Scooby dealers (with bore sizes marked) and he couldn't be more helpful
