|
|
i have now got my bus driving around , but it is not behaving on boost . the boost comes in well (strong) but then seems to run out of legs very quickly. and seems to loose all power. almost as if it has dumped the boost.
i am wondering if my new pipework has caused the system to be more freeflowing and increased the boost(to much)
or if i have taken of the boost fuel control pipe in the wrong place, i have put it next to the inlet maifold?
or if not wiringup the cold start solenoid could cause fuel /boost problems?

Hi Tim ,
The pipe work should not cause it to be more free flowing or increase boost ,
It does not make much difference to where the fuel boost pipe connects or that the cold start solenoids not wired.
have you piped in an intercooler ?
do you think there could be a leak ?
What gearbox code do you have ? _________________ Auto Union Munga Jeep ,T4 2.4td , T4 2.5tdi ,Mercedes S Class on LPG , 66 splity deluxe , GP mk1, 3 type 25s 1 with 1.9dt pug engine + 1 with N/A pug engine ,,there are 6 t25s with pug power in Darlington |

i have now welded al the pipes up and tightended all of the pipework joints. so i don't think i am loosing boost pressure. i am running a 2 litre gearbox(high ratio) and bigger back tyres, it appears to be loosing the power at about 3500rpm and it sounds quite noisey at speeds above 70. the old 2litre lunp used to clack along all day at 80+
i have been told by a local peugeot mechanic to remove the fuel cut off solenoid internals and see if this is limiting the flow of fuel

Hi Tim
The shut off solenoids don't normally cause a problem ,
Have you increased the size of the fuel pipes from the fuel tank to the filter ?
The engine should still be pushing above eighty due to the torque curve
Type of engine mounts can transmit a lot of noise at high speed , check to see if the nearside one is rubbing against the outer casting , _________________ Auto Union Munga Jeep ,T4 2.4td , T4 2.5tdi ,Mercedes S Class on LPG , 66 splity deluxe , GP mk1, 3 type 25s 1 with 1.9dt pug engine + 1 with N/A pug engine ,,there are 6 t25s with pug power in Darlington |
