hello
iv just purchased this engine to go in my 1985 watercooled vw transporter
just looking at whats required for the conversion
what is the general consensus on adapter plates (kep) and rjes bell housing?
would be interested in peoples opinions

I use an RJEs bell housing and cant fault the quality and support. I serioulsly considered KEP but by the time you add in all the extra bits you have to buy (clutch,etc) the costs are about the same yet the rjes housing is a much better engineered solution. THe RJES also uses more of the factory parts which IMo makes it better.
Rich (RJES) also is extremely knowledgable about the t25 conversion as he has one himself and so can offer great support. |

Sorry, welcome fella  (Can we say "welcome to the darkside if they're already watercooled?  )
The RJES is a nice bit of kit. Mine's in a 78 bay which does require chassis mods. I don't know if you have to do this in a T25. It allows you to keep 'stock' parts all bar the adaptor plate to utilise the Subaru release bearing
Scooby parts:
Flywheel, pressure plate, starter motor & release bearing
VW parts:
2l friction disk, clutch arm/spring.
You do have to do a bit of faffing getting VW bits off your bellhousing and transposing them onto the new bellhouse. Simple enough though.
