I've sort of decided that that's the plan. 110 AFN with flipped box. Use the passat loom steering column etc.
The 1z in the bus now is still fine but the last 9 or 10 remaining countries on my list to visit are now so far away that I need to improve my cruising speed and power.
Looking for a donor atm. Soon as I find one I'll be pulling the mtdi out . |

Exciting times... good find getting one with that low mileage on.
Good way to see the New Year in

Donor csr was near mint with full history and was tested three weeks before with a bill for £520 for new suspension arms.... too good to break really :-)
Pulling out the engine and box at the moment so will be available soon moomin.
Flip plate and wiring loom on its way from Ultimate Engineering. New dual mass flywheel and clutch fitted to the AFN. Hoping to get it mobile for a trip at half term in February. |

| Sounds like you've got a really good donor. Are you going to adapt your existing engine bar or fabricate a new one for the AFN? If you're as quick with this swap as you were with the last then February will be no problem for you!! |

| I'll have to make a new mounting bar set uo as the afn uses different mounting position. Hopefully get it done for hols but v busy at work and doing it outside doesn't help. |

| Drove the bus for the first time today with afn power and flipped box. Awesome, really smooth and quiet. Goes really well 😃 |

Hi just browsed through your topic from page one.
Nice conversion!
But the last bit(flipped box+afn) you didn`t make any pictures? I`m interested in the flipped box part. where can i find a good reference conversion? |

Great news! Drop me a PM about the Mtdi engine when you get a minute. I had been wondering how you'd been getting on but I didn't like to ask in case I seemed pushy about getting your other engine! Did you take any pics of this conversion or were you too busy cracking on? |
