13 Window, you're the MAAAAAAAAN!
How the heck could I miss that simple problem, I had the solution in front of me all the time. Yes, the pump was 180 degrees wrong. First try and it started right away!

Yeeehaaaaa!
Just in case I'll do the timing once more to see it's okay. And I'll try to find someone that has the tools to check the compression to see that all cylinders are ok. |

The shaft has the hole for the woodruff key but as you said no key was there when I removed the wheel plate. I was pretty surprised.
I took some new images how everything is in the setup, will add them on the blog site.
Thanks again for the tip. |

you can fit the vw key in the landy shaft with the vw pulley but then the timing pin hole is knowhere near the hole in the pump bracket. if you where bothered you could fit the keyway and remark where the timing pin lands.
just a thought a picture from the cambelt end on showing which way the pump shaft keyway points at tdc no1 cylinder could help someone else timing a disco pump up in the future _________________ 1964 rat 13 window deluxe 1Z tdi,

You will not believe this, but...
It's stolen again!!!
It's bloody amazing, I've got so many different cars and none have been stolen until I got this one. I live in a really nice area, car thefts are rare as a nuns nude titties!
This time a neighbour did see it happen, but he didn't know it was mine and it "could have been theirs". They came with a van 07.30 in the morning, bright daylight. Just got it running and went away...
This time I actually believe I'll never see it again. Either it's already in Poland or it's sliced into pieces and shipped to Africa.
F**k. |

Well, that's the only good thing in this story. I planned to switch the coming week. The engine is still in the garage.
Then the problem: It took me 1½ year to find a pickup with diesel engine. And even more, in two years it was going tax free because of the age.
Now, there aren't even a hand full of diesel T25's out for sale in the entire country. And the only decent object is 1000 km's away...
Out of four times parked at home, it was stolen 50 % of the times. |

It's totally insane...
But she's back!
A guy from the Swedish vanagon club called me this afternoon and said: "Your bus is parked behind the MC store downtown, I recognized your rims". I told him to not move and drove like crazy down town and at the same time a friend that lives nearby biked to the place and jacked a bike lock in the front rim.
Broken ignition key. That's it. They've tried to take the wheels but failed!
