Hi Will, fancy seeing you on here
Not sure about the T25 input shaft but T1, T2 and T3 all have a thread on the end which you unscrew....
Check out my post How To Change Input Shaft
It might help you out but not 100% sure m8 as I've not done a T25 before
Is there not a side cover that you can remove to get access into the other end of the input shaft because a splined sleave needs to be slid back before the input shaft can be unscrewed.
Hope this helps a bit but I'm sure Famous Phil will tell you the best way _________________ DARREN

| You got me thinking - again. Why don't we always change the input shaft? It shouldn't be a problem to create a new input shaft that fit the complete Scooby/Ford/VW/Peug/BMW-clutch. |

lucky you! you should have kept that quiet - youll be inundated with orders now.
I was looking at coarse hub splines which reqd a hardening process. i guess you will also need to do this? |

I have no problem with making an extra bunch of axles.
Yes, hardening is a must. I'll talk to my father about the issue to get a good steel quality and what hardening type he recommends. I think 35 years of design experience at VCE is good to squeeze, specially as he's working with transaxles...
But I have to think over the issue. Does it actually get easier or better with another axle? Right now I can think of the original position of the flywheel and all the original clutch parts as a good thing. I have to make a new clutch arm anyway, so that's not a really important.
How about the adapter plate? I could do it how I want, I just have to adjust the length of the new axle. Maybe the create-a-new-axle-thing is the best idea?.. |
