The original 228 mm bus clutch, how much power can it take?
I can re-fit the center plate with heavy duty stuff, but how is it with the pressure plate?
I'm asking because I can get a complete Type 2-clutch pretty easy and cheap and it will make my conversion easy. I'm not going for more power than 150-160 hp anyway. |

| its not the power that makes the clutch slip its the torque, the highest power vw fitted with a 228mm clutch would probably be the 2.9 corrado they where 192hp stock and loads of torque. The tyres, vehicle weight, driving style, engine torque curve etc all contribute to clutch slip id suck it and see |

might taste a bit funny
but if it breaks after a while then change it
as your changing the engine iam sure you will make it easy to change the clutch if required |

Thanks guys.
It seems though that I have at least a little bit of luck, I found another complete Subaru Legacy for candy money so now I have a Subaru pressure plate anyway.
Gonna go and get the car in the weekend or next week, and then I will slaughter it totally. |
