t2 rear suspension

has anyone got any ideas about lifting the rear of my bus back to its correct hight . i have fitted an escort diesel and it has lowered itself . i have thought obout some kind of spring assistor shocks or even moving the spring plates around on the rear torsion bars . has anybody had any experiance of doing this?????? help!!!!

I fitted AVO coilovers to my Covin which uses VW Type 3 running gear when I fitted the RS Turbo engine.
These worked a treat and I don't see any reason why you couldn't do the same on the Type 2. I'm going to do the this with my own Bay once the engine goes in.
You'll need to measure the open and closed length you require and the spring pressure rating and they should work fine.
Make sure you use the thinner spring type 1.9 inch rather than the fatter ones for clearence issues.
Someone else on here might know the exact part number of coilover to use. Happy

I think J.P. used some VW items which have a 3 position adjustment like motorcycle style coil-overs. I've also seen a few Covins using these type as well.

you could turn your spring plates down a spline (the opposite of what you do for lowering) - one spline outer spline equates to about 2- 3 inch ish
Its free and a pretty easy job to do.
