I have just been speaking to famous phil about fitting a brand new 1.9 d engine belonging to a friend of mine into my split and he was very helpfull (thanks phil),he can supply the kit for the 1.9d.
I then got on the phone to my mate and it turns out that the engine is a 1.7 td(xud 9) with all ancillaries that he was going to fit into a water cooled t25. this never happened as the t25 rotted away, however he kept the 5 speed gearbox.
Has any body linked any of these pieces together?especially the 5 speed box into a split.
I am new to all of this mix and matching so if i am talking rubbish i do appologise.
I thank you for any help.
Tim

if you are fitting the five speed box you need the t25 linkage and gear stick or make a custom linkage joining the split linkagae to the box

oh and doesn't the 5 speed box use a Hydraulic clutch?

ITs all possible to use, and in fact he later gearbox is far far better than the Bay box as the nose is supported on rubber so the NVH levels can be virtually eliminated!

But it does take some more serious work to get the gear lever, clutch and gearbox mounts all sorted!

my t25 5 speed box is lever arm rather than hydraulic - i understand you can convert it either way, just difficult to track down the lever arm parts in the first place Laugh Out Loud
