As a regular Practical Performance car reader ive been following the build of a Westfield. Its beign fitted with a 1.9 Tdi from an A4. i know its not a VW but theres some interesting information in there (plus an email address) about how hes over come the wiring issues etc. all of which would be directly transferable to our conversions.

Just thought i would let you all know so you can go and read it in the newagents Wink

After reading the latest issue the idea of Saab turbo power had me mulling some things over! 350bhp for £500 can't be bad!

Cheers Rich, I'll have a perusal after work! Hopefully some will apply to td's too!

My next door neighbour is a saab nut, has 6. There's one in particular he's done a great deal of work on, it's phenominally quick! It beats an M5 in a straight line. The gearbox's though, seriously let down the engines.

Apparently if you get the right year engine they bolt straight onto Vauxhall Omega boxes, that's what they did anyway

I have looked at the article , it does not say . but it does say it reduces the wiring diagram to 20 wires therefore its Pre PD engine.

Does any one have the previous articles

What month covers which part of the build.

i've cut my tdi wiring loom down last week for splitty ended up using half of the wiring loads of stuff is for un-needed rubbish like power steering pressure switches, auto box control wiring, clutch and brake light switches, cruise control switch etc in the end to get the engine actually running on the garage floor i only had 1x perment live 1x switched live and 1x earth then the immobiliser loom which is seperate had 1x switched live and 1x earth dont know why people are so scared of the pre pdi tdi wiring? the pdi wiring has twice as many wires in to start with 121pins in the ecu then the clocks needed!!!! in my opinion i wouldnt use a pdi tdi engine in my van as i have found them to be more less reliable than the older engines
