|
|
I have recently had the misfortune of my cam belt snapping on my 1999 passat 1.9 TDI 110 (Engine code AVG)
Anyway I sent the head off and got it reconditioned by some place on ebay, service seems top notch they picked up delivered and supplied head bolts and head gasket set. I fitted everything back together by the book (haynes) correct torque settings, in order suggested etc..
I fired it up and sounded good (as much as a TDI can) it was at that point when it had been running for a few minutes I noticed some water and bubbles coming from the top of the HG ! I removed the oil filler cap and creamyness
Also when running there was a lot of pressure blowing out the oil filler cap hole and holding yer hand over it would soon be pretty splattered in oil ! is this normal ! I tried the same test on a Corsa Diesel van I'm using atm and hardly anything blowing out the top !
I have removed the head again and no obvious signs of what could be wrong !
Where to go from here ? I have a 6 month guarantee on the head so will see what they have to say (prob blag me off cause I did it myself... but he seemed a descent chap on the phone)
Please post your thoughts thanks. |
