I've got a t25 syncro with a 93 2.2 legacy engine. Having trouble with engine cutting out when coming to a standstill hunting as well. I understand that I need a vss but my syncro already has cruise and abs which I want to keep. Can I use the signal from the VW system to put feed to ecu. If not is there a cable mounted sensor for my van. All of the conversion parts are rjes. Thank you...Brian.....Leicester.

Don't know if you can split the VW signal

and yes there's cable mounted VSS devices. It has been talked about on this site a few times, including photos.

As far as I know, there is no cable mounted VSS available for T25's with clip on calbes, as all Syncro's have. Only the M18 x 1.5 threaded version. There used to be, but they are now obsolete. I may still have one, but they didn't fit well due to them having about 8" of cable attached which can't easily be lost anywhere in a T25.

How many terminals does your cruise control VSS have? 2 or 3? The 2 terminal type are not compatible without come custom electronics as an interface. The 3 terminal ones may be compatible. I'm not sure without doing some investigating. They may still need an interface circuit to enable them to switch the extra current of the engine ECU too.

Thanks for your replys, Rich I thought you are on holiday. My vss is a 2 wire so it looks like I am stumped. My wife has a Renault Clio which has a cable mounted vss I might look into getting a custom made cable with the Renault vss if the signal is compatable. What signal am I looking for? cheers...Brian
