bay diesel coversion

hello everyone, i am a new member to vwkd. i have just bought a 73 westy, and i need help and advice to go to diesel. i have a zantia and a 306 as possible donors. i might also be able to source a t25, just wanted to know what members thought, i have no problems with mechanics r butchering to suit my wallet, bit of a cash flow problem at the minute as its not flowing and turned into a trickle, friking bankers etc! anyway i would appreciate any advice etc, would be very wecome. hope to have pics up asap, ur pal dieseldan

hi dan, welcome to the forum.

You will get loads of help on here, have you read the beginners guide yet? (top right)

i've got a 79 bay with a xantia 1.9td, had it about 4 years now and i'm still muddling through cooling & gearing issues!

i'd start off by sourcing a good gearbox with the best ratio possible, like a 2 litre air cooled box or consider putting a t25 box in there?
