very strait forward fitting ,, on t25s as all brackets suppled - 1 engine rubber , best to take box out and bolt up on the floor , then i used to stack blocks up either side of engine bay lid , taking care not to damage trim in bus ,, and then a piece of box section to hang block n tackle , to lift engine and box up , bolt up box first (remember the engine is not central ) next bolt up vw engine frame , may need to space it between chassis
1" n a 1/2 , about right , you may need to reshape some tin-work around engine bay clearance for vac pump and cam belt cover , as for engine rubber mount i sometimes use early fiesta gear box cradle mount about inch and a half to two inch ,

more later i used to do these swaps in three days ,

before fitting engine , i find it easy to make up engine wires while on the floor then just connect up to the VW wires ,

to check that bolts don't need trimming , bolt adaptor plate to gearbox bolts should only come through 2 't' 3 mm you'll find that one bolt enters through the bell housing via the VW starter shaft guide knock out the brass bush first , once thats all checked , unbolt it, then fit flywheel and bearing to engine ,and rotate it just to check that the bolts that hold both flywheels don't catch webbing on the block , followed by the adaptor plate , next fit clutch , ready to bolt up to box and lift into place , drain fuel tank and put some diesel in drain some through fuel pipes and put back in the fuel tank .

when i fitted pug engine into bay i got a length of 6 or 7 core trailer lighting flex to wire in temp gauge and glow plug light also water level and can also connect a wire up to the fans main feed this will tell you when the fan has power to it and that it should be on
