Running the Van in convoy to Stanford Hall at the weekend and it became clear that at Motorway speeds the guage goes up quite high (100oC).
Is that too hot? How hot is normal? The Thermostat is a std one and ive got a Fellows Rad underneath.
Would an oil cooler have any effect? |

my moneys on that being a tad high, if the gauge is accurate. Mine only once or twice went above 90 on a very sunny day last weekend after a long climb coming back from cornwall (VDO aftermarket gauge and stock sensor). Looking at the standard fan temps 100 looks high.
Mine's an AAZ but I would have thought they'd run at similar temps.
What sort of speeds are you doing? I tend not to go above 60 mind |

We were going some. Speedo isn't accurate because of the tyres, but id estimate min 70mph. Think a decent gauge would be a good buy. Im getting a squeal from either the WP or alternator. if its the WP then im guessing that wont help the cooling.
Would and oil cooler help? |

not sure how much of an effect it would have in all honesty but would be interesting to see.
I'd imagine mine would be up around those temps if I was moving a bit quicker so that's not too bad? What tyres are you running? Mine feels like it's working a bit hard above 60 and that's with 15" 70 tyres off a T4. Would like 15" 80's with an SUV sorta tread |

| tyres are 195/65 but that's just because the tyre place didn't have anything bigger. Im also looking to upgrade to 80 profile. |
