This is possibly more a message fer Famoose Fil, I have just bought myself a T25 carravelle GL auto on a F plate from Keef in Stockton. This has made its way i think from hartlepool. Its a goldy champagne colour and its an alright bus apart from......
its 1.9 non turbo pug engine(is it one of your conversions).
The engine is sweet as a nut no smoking, really smooth, but just not enuff power for the auto box. having read a couple of posts from people on different websites, i think that changing to a turbo engine might just be the better idea as a few are pleased with the result how easy is it with the exsiting setup?
I'm just changing my Bay window bus from a non turbo to a turbo, the engine is pretty much the same and the exhaust even exits in the same place, apart from being a different fitting to the non turbo, so its just a case of chopping one off and replacing it with the correct item.
The current exhaust is a flexi pipe connected to the manifold at one end and a silencer attached to the other, i managed to get it up to 70 yesterday when the exhaust couldn't take it any more and split in the middle...
Ooo if you can get hold of a 2.1lt 12 valve then yes that'd be the way to go. I sold one a few weeks ago and had thought of putting it in my Bay but thought the 1.9 wuld be fine.
You'd need to get Phil to help with making sure the adaptors worked though.
As we bothy live in a town with only 100,000 then he should be easy to find. I havent got one but every post i founf with that engine in seems to rave about it.

hi fils told me about that bus before. i believe a 2.1 engine will fit using the same adaptor setup. _________________ i really need to start working on my wedgey again!!!

hi there trent i'm a big fan of the 1.9td they'll sit at a 80 all day every day if you want ,,,, the 2.1 td might be more suited to the auto as it should be a higher ratio than the 5 speed box , as for the exhaust ,i have one at the mo and the pipe is no more than 3' long exits strait out the back , has to be a strait through box , but saying that i know a chap that has got just a strait through pipe ' the turbo muffles quite a bit so try find a realy short box _________________ Auto Union Munga Jeep ,T4 2.4td , T4 2.5tdi ,Mercedes S Class on LPG , 66 splity deluxe , GP mk1, 3 type 25s 1 with 1.9dt pug engine + 1 with N/A pug engine ,,there are 6 t25s with pug power in Darlington
As i don't posess a welder(some git nicked it) i presume taking it into exhaust a fix north road they would be able to knock me something together. will the 2.1 fit the existing kit. Do you know the bus?

thats real strange it all fits into place now ,
me father said he saw one maybe morrisons carpark , just like one of my velle's ,
i said i've not seen that one ,
not sure if the kits one of mine ,
i did do a kit for an auto over 'boro' i think that got broke up before the engine was fitted , that was auto, champagne silver. had some pannels with it to fit ,

I do live in sunny darlo. or windy as it is right now. I doubt it was mine as i got it saturday and i've only really been to gilling west and back(where me little workshop is). Its a funny one as Keef had to weld the torque converter onto the flywheel.... but i've seen it a few times and needed something to carry more kids around in. Very happy with it mind just lacking in power. The conversion plate looks like its made from maybe 20mm steel and the engine bay has been raised to accomodate the height. how easy to adapt the adapter for subaru(just looking at all options)

the auto kit that i built up the flex plate bolted to the flywheel with spacer blocks between the two ,,,,,,,,
does the pug engine have a fuel filter that is part of the thearmostat housing ,,,
