just thought id post a few shot of van as ive started doing engine swap this weekend
first photo is off engine in bay viewed through engine lid the engine is a mock up engine a old stripped gti motor i had kicking about (alot lighter than tdi motor) bolted to the irs box with a 25mm 15degree adaptor plate and dropped in to the van to make the new additional engine mountings i dropped on a spare aaz 1.9 td head when it was in place to get a idea of the diamensions and where stuff will be going
second photo is of engine through rear hatch i have cut out the boot floor with plasma cutter to allow fitment of narrowed t25 engine hatch lid & rim to allow better access to engine from above

Neat job!
Sure you haven't photo shopped that? _________________ The advice you receive on here is worth the paper it's written on.

every things been trial fitted and mocked up in the engine bay so i ive removed the engine again last week so the gearbox can be sent off to cogbox this week for the rebuild and ratio changes to lower engine revs on the motorway with the new ratios the engine will be doing 3600rpm at 84mph in 4th!!! now the engines out i thought id tidy the engine bay due to burnt paint from a previous engine fire!
engine resealed pre paint
engine bay repainted
while the box is away im going to get the irs fitted to the van and make a start on the rear disk conversion. i'm hoping to get van on the road for the run to the hills show as it's only about 5 miles away from my house so not to far if anything falls offs more pictures to follow |
