1.9 AEF STRAIGHT DIESEL COVERSION?

i am currently converting my 1.6 air cooled t25 camper into a 1.9 vw caddy diesel powered mile muncher i bought a 1.6 d van to have the diesel pipes gearbox water pipes rad and wiring loom and clocks ihave got the engine and box together with the spigot bearing new clutch cable clutch arm and evrything seems to be going to good am about to install the engine and have had a lotof help from this forum apart from the obviuos wiring up due to different connectors can anyone forsee any other problems i might come across?

cheers for the reply i had the plate that hides the stop switch on the back of the pump of today and run 2 wires of the switch been told 1 is live and 1 is earth but until i get the engine in and turning over i cant be sure which is which both black wires coming of the pump got loads of pics to upload so far its been easy pops but something bound to go wrong lol

Hi, does not mater which way they're powered up , if you get a test light you could do a quick check to see if ones earthed , check the link below Happy

well its up and running rewired the alternator have run a live to the stop switch bled the water up tydied up the wiring loom a bit and on the first spin out the gearbox sounds like its about to chuck its guts out engine is pulling ok seems slow tho wondering now wether to rebuild the diesel gearbox or swap itfor the old 1.6 air cooled numbers on it are 002301031 any ideas on the rebuilders ? oh and now inow why they fit servo assissted brakes on newer vehicles first junction i came to and it was almost a straight thro jobbie lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! help

as usual i am cutting everything fine had the 5 speed ass box can only seem to get four gears no time left to tinker she is going to glasto wedsnesday i will be in the west field with a rough dark blue t25 probably broken in some way or another she got a white high top as well so if your there come say hi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
