hi guys well ive almost completed my conversion, aaz in t2. Put rad up front behind fake spare, as 13 windows deluxe has, but not sure where to put the expansion bottle. It has to be the highest point of the water system, im thinking, and as when i climb a hill surely the rad will be highest point and water finds its own level. Won't this cause air to be trapped in the rad if I place it too low - say in the back. Can anyone advise me - all ideas will be considered and are most welcome !! ( I have thought about placing it up high at the back of the motor inside for gravity to do it's thing). Am I talking rubbish? [/b] _________________ im a member of the biggest gang in the world..
It actually doesn't have to be at the highest point.
Think about it from the coolant's point of view - forced flow, not natural. Then make sure you have a bleed point at the top of the system, or in a "high spot in a low place"

thanks for getting back to us so quick Elusivestranger, so what your saying is keep the front down when i fill it up with coolant ( like on ramps) and bleed from top of rad, and when rad is full, job done, thanks again for the help. _________________ im a member of the biggest gang in the world..

I'd personally try a mix of filling/bleeding from both ends.
In my mind it's going to be like bleeding a T3's system

yeah nice one , will look for that thread, i have looked up on net and they mention 2 tanks for the t25 setup ( expansion tank and a coolant tank) am i gonna need this setup and hows that work ? (probably so simple) but the more i read about it the more complicated it sounds (lol) seems like the hardest part of this conversion but looking good and i couldnt have done it without this site( so a big thankyou) as im no mechanic, thanks again. _________________ im a member of the biggest gang in the world..

Well after spending hours on net ithink ive got me head round it, gonna have to have system as t25 has, a totally air free system( except 2nd bottle) like Elusivestranger said expansion bottle doesnt have to be highest point ( air tight) first bottle and system totally full of coolant, airless, not a bit of air (hows im doing so far) when coolant heats and expands pressure pushes coolant through vave on cap into 2nd bottle,, when engine turnt off and coolant starts to cool down it is sucked back into 1st bottle ( keeping system up to 1st bottle full of water) very clever A,, never heard of a system like it,, must be unique to the t25, works bit like me heating system in me house, hope this info is usefull to anyone else ( if im right that is) have i missed anything nice one _________________ im a member of the biggest gang in the world..
